Supporting the Community

Our services are available at our office in the Village of Pittsford, as well as public and private schools. By partnering closely with schools and families, we provide timely, accessible support in familiar, trusted environments.

Our Office Location

PYS is centrally located at 4 South Main Street, on the first floor of the Phoenix Building in the Village of Pittsford.

Office Hours

Monday through Friday from 10:00am–2:00pm, with after-school and evening appointments available as needed to accommodate families’ schedules.

Our Services

Individual Counseling

One-on-one sessions with a licensed social worker based on referral from a teacher, counselor, psychologist, administrator, or family member. Sessions focus on helping youth navigate emotional and social challenges in a supportive, confidential setting. Available at schools and our office.

Group Counseling

Small group sessions designed around shared experiences or challenges, identified in collaboration with school counselors and administrators. Groups typically meet weekly for several weeks. Available at schools and our office.

Groups have included:

  • Grief and loss

  • Divorce and separation

  • Social skills

  • Problem solving

  • Friendship and kindness

Family Counseling

Short-term, solution-focused counseling for families. Sessions may include all or part of the family, with referrals provided as needed. Available at our office.

Classroom & School Presentations

In partnership with school staff, PYS social workers provide presentations on topics such as:

  • Stress management

  • Eating disorders

  • Conflict resolution

  • Bullying

  • Sportsmanship

Crisis Intervention

PYS social workers support Pittsford Central School District administration during crisis situations affecting individual schools or the district.

Home Visits

When appropriate as part of a child’s treatment plan, social workers may visit the home to further support the family.

Counseling Fees

As a nonprofit agency, PYS is committed to keeping counseling services affordable.

  • Office visits: $75 per session, due at the time of service

  • Payment plans are available based on financial need. Families are encouraged to provide proof of income so we can develop a mutually satisfactory payment arrangement.
