1-2-3 MAGIC EFFECTIVE DISCIPLINE FOR CHILDREN 5-12

This multi-session workshop will help you to:

  • Get your children to stop doing what you don’t want them to do
  • Encourage your children to start doing what you want them to do
  • Handle misbehavior in public places
  • Deal with common manipulations used by children
  • Implement the steps needed for building self-esteem

SURVIVING YOUR ADOLESCENTS, FOR CHILDREN 13-18

This multi-session workshop will address how to manage and let go of your 13-18 year olds. 
You will learn:

    • What is normal adolescent behavior and how you should respond
    • Communication and safety
    • What parents should do when they are concerned or aggravated by the teenager behavior
    • How parents should respond if they find their teen is engaging in serious risk-taking behaviors
    • Six Kinds of Testing & Manipulation and clear recommendations for handling testing
    • House Rules


    HOW TO PARENT & UNDERSTAND CHILDREN WITH ADD/ADHD

    This multi-session workshop will address:

    • What is ADD/ADHD – Diagnosing & Treatment
    • How it affects the family system
    • How it affects school and peer relationships
    • How to parent a child who has ADD/ADHD
    • How to explain ADD/ADHD to children

    UNDERSTANDING AND MANAGING FEARS& WORRIES

    This program is a parent workshop addressing anxiety in children. 
    This multi-session workshop will help you to:

    • Learn the nature and cause of anxiety
    • Determine if your child’s fears and worries are within typical limits
    • Learn about different anxiety disorders and strategies to handle the symptoms
    • Give your child suggestions and tools in handling their own anxiety
    • Learn what you can do as a parent to help your child manage their fears and worries
    • Learn treatment options available within the community

    PARENTING PROGRAMS - SCHEDULING / FEES

    In order to be most effective, we request that you commit to all consecutive sessions. Most classes take place at the Spiegel Center. Space is limited to 14 individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis. The fee is $80 for an individual or $100 per household. Limited scholarships are available.
