WHO WE ARE:
A nonprofit human service agency, incorporated in 1987, serving Pittsford youth and families for over 35 years.

WHY WE'RE HERE:
Young people in our community face a number of challenges while growing up. Dealing with issues such as peer pressure, abuse, parent divorce, academic stress and drugs can be daunting.

Three decades ago, a group of concerned citizens came together to help our Pittsford youth cope with these difficult issues. Their efforts continue today through the staff of PYS. PYS is now an important part of the Pittsford community, providing free and confidential counseling services to young people and their families to help them navigate through difficult times.

By providing services through the Pittsford School District and privately at our offices in the village of Pittsford, our professionally licensed social work staff provides a haven for our community children and teens in need.

WHO WE SERVE:
On average, PYS staff provides 1200+ individual counseling sessions each year plus service to hundreds more in small groups, during educational programs and through consultations, with remarkable results.

She has 24 years of experience in the social work field, including three years at Visiting Nurse Service and 17 years at Crestwood Children’s Center.

 Loraine has been with Pittsford Youth Services since January 2003, providing services to several Pittsford elementary schools, as well as individual and family social work services for the community at the PYS office in the Pittsford Recreation Center. Loraine is also responsible for program development for the agency. Loraine holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and is a licensed social worker with 23 years of social work experience.
